Alane (Lanie ) Presswood earned her B.A. in Communication Studies with minors in French and Film Criticism from West Chester University in May 2013. She looks forward to becoming part of the COMS program at Ohio University, where she will be serving as a graduate assistant with the Ohio University Speaking Bobcats.
Presswood has been involved with Forensics speech and debate for seven years, and is excited to be able to continue her journey and branch out into the realm of coaching and teaching.
Presswood’s research interests lie within the interpersonal realm, specifically in how the pervasive influence of social media has altered personal disclosure and relationship building. As a public speaker, she is also fascinated by the use of rhetorical theory and criticism as employed in effective advertising or public relations campaigns.
When not engaged with Forensics or classroom duties, Presswood enjoys reading fiction and cooking elaborate recipes. Unfortunately, she does not like beer or large dogs.
