Education:  M.A. (Communication Studies: Quantitative Research and Theory), West Virginia University; B.A. (Organizational Communication), Lubbock Christian University.

How I Got Here: After my B.A. in Texas (which many believe is a whole other country), I moved to teach Conversational English in China for an all-too-short year. I returned to the USA, finished my M.A., and began to work in an HR firm where I began to recognize my desire to help oppressed people and teach. I taught at a couple of universities until I arrived here at OU, where I hope to learn how my interests in Communication may contribute to make this world a better place. I bring with me a passion for people, chocolate, the oppressed, China, art, coffee, travel, and peace (in no particular order).

Specialization Interest: During my PhD program, I hope to explore several different research methods; I am especially interested in appreciative and qualitative inquirires. A current project I hope to carry with me throughout my time at OU is the study of Spiritual Narratives, especially in regards to health, healing, oppression, and emancipation. I hope my interests grow and change as I do, but this is where I find myself in this season.
