As an organizational scholar, I am interested in the academy as a workplace, and as a rhetorical scholar, I am interested in diversity and various forms of in/out group communication - how people within a social group communicate about, and with, those outside their circle.  My dissertation work focuses on faculty experiences of diversity within the academy as a site of work.

I grew up in Michigan, and have degrees from Michigan State University and Lake Superior State University. I worked for a number of years in the banking industry before returning to school full-time. I love everything about the academic life and can’t imagine a better way to spend my time than learning and teaching.
