I earned my BA in communication studies at Kent State University with a focus in interpersonal and organizational study and a minor in Business Management. Immediately following my completion of study, I pursued my MA at The University of Akron with a focus in mass media and women studies. During my graduate studies, I worked as an intern at Wooster Community Hospital on a publication to provide preventive and detection guidelines for individuals. Following graduate school, I continued my work at Wooster Community Hospital as a public relations and marketing assistant.
I took the position as Executive Director of the Rittman Area Chamber of Commerce in 2007. At my current position, I have had the opportunity to work with Poggemeyer Design Firm, CIC, and the City of Rittman to complete a state grant for downtown revitalization, establish a chamber sponsored high school scholarship, and improve upon city image.
The area of study I intend to pursue is health communication. More specifically, I am interested in women’s health practices and health communication campaigns.
