I am a second year doctoral student at Ohio University. My primary research interests are focussed on health communication and organizational communication. I am interested in narrative theory, metaphor and social cognition, message effects, provider-patient communication, and medical professional communication training. Additionally, I am attracted to many scenes where communication episodes unfold, but most recently I have developed strong interests in cancer communication and dental communication.

In 2004, I earned a Bachelor's degree in University Studies (emphases in Biology and Sociology) from Brigham Young University-Idaho. Then in 2008, I graduated from Idaho State University with a Master's degree in Organizational Communication.

Throughout my academic journey, I have had the opportunity to work in a few positions outside of the academy including opportunities as a dental assistant, small business owner, and corporate training director. In addition to my studies, I love spending time with my wife and children, playing musical instruments, fly-fishing, and mountain biking.
